This is probably one of my favorite cakes I've made so far. We wanted to do something special for Landry and I think I accomplished that with this one. I got to play with my new toy - an airbrush :) Let's just say, my entire kitchen was BLUE when I finished, but it was worth it when I saw Deana and Harlee's faces when they saw the cake!
Ashleigh's 13th
This was the cake I made Ashleigh for her 13th birthday party. I was still very much in the learning stages of cake making/decorating when I did this one, but it was only 2 weeks after I made my first cake, so I have to say, it wasn't too shabby! Really, who am I kidding? I'm still in the learning stages! I feel like I learn something new everytime I make a cake, so I take that as a good thing...or I guess it could be bad for those people who have gotten my first cakes ;) ANYWAYS...she liked it, the kids at her party seemed to think it was good and THAT'S what counts.
Leap of Faith
It's only fitting that the first cake I blog about, was my very first cake order. Miss Jane Ham contacted me through facebook to see if I could make a wedding cake for her grandson's wedding. Up until this point, I had just been making cakes for my girls along with friends and family. I told her I hadn't made one, but she didn't doubt me for a second, and for that I am thankful! She had faith in me (without a doubt, more than I had in myself at that point!), and soon I was talking to Beth, Jane's daughter, about the cake. Well, this was the finished product! It was a 3 layer white cake with buttercream icing, fondant barbed wire, and the monogram B at the top is fondant also.
After this order, several more followed...I'm very thankful for Jane and Beth taking that leap of faith and trusting me with a very special day!

Here we go!
Well, I decided to take the next step in this whole "running a home business" thing and have a website! My facebook page has been great, but I know that not everybody in the world has a facebook account. I will post a picture and a little background story for each cake I create and maybe a few other entries from time to time. I hope you all enjoy my dirt road designs...
